Also known as student’s Fado, this is another style of Fado performed by both current and former university students. Originating from Coimbra University, this genre evokes feelings of love, nostalgia, and academic life.
Nestled in the historic Miragaia neighborhood on the Douro riverfront, in the heart of the city yet far from its frenzy, our venue features century-old architecture and an authentic, welcoming atmosphere.
Join us at one of our daily shows for an exclusive and enchanting evening of Fado music featuring excellent representatives of Fado’s most famous tradition and student groups that preserve Coimbra’s Fado.
The concert lasts one hour and includes a complimentary glass of port wine. Tickets cost €21 (discounted to €13.65 during May).

As an authentic Fado show is meant to be enjoyed in silence, we open our doors to anyone 12 years or older.
We offer a full, no-questions-asked refund for cancellations made up to 24 hours before the start of the show. Send an email to info@fadomaior.pt. No refunds are possible after this deadline.
If you’re walking from Ribeira, it’s 700 meters away.
If you’re coming by public transport, there are buses 403, 500 and 900. You should get off at the Miragaia stop and walk 200 meters.
